A good book, would like to see more restraunt options. I feel like it was a bit heavy on Montreal and less on Quebec City. The maps were very handy

Head North for Your Vacation

I just used this guidebook when visiting Quebec and Montreal with my family's this summer. Although usually a Lonely Planet devotee, I decided to give Fodor's a try. It was very useful. The background information on Canada, and the unique francophone ways of Quebec was helpful as a first time traveler to this region. Before our trip, the hotel information assisted in the selection of places to stay.
While in each city, Fodor's was on the mark in its descriptions of historical sites and museums. In addition, the designation of family-friendly places guided on choice of itineraries. This book comes with a tear-out map, and the text is loaded with smaller neighborhood maps. As we were relying on public transport, walking and taxis/Uber, these smaller maps were useful in plotting out our routes.
The restaurant descriptions were somewhat useful. However, because only a fraction of restaurants could be captured, online sites/apps like Yelp and TripAdvisor were better.
This is great guidebook for getting you oriented and touring around these 2 Quebec cities and their environs.
